The cheapest, easiest mod ever.

Received a later model's Homelink driver side visor in the mail, put it in my 95. Took all of five minutes. Now I can open the garage door without a clunky separate opener.

I've been wondering about this. Does it just require the power wire that is already there for the vanity light os is there another connection requirement?

Got my windshield retinted after work today. I had it tinted to 50% a few years back but the cheap film turned almost clear after about a year. Went with a different film/tint guy this time and went with 40%. It's definitely more noticeable this time around especially since the rest of the car is 5%.

That's it! Just pop the plastic cover at the hinge, you'll see a couple of screws. I used a tape-wrapped flatblade screwdriver because it takes a light twist to pop it, a nylon panel tool just bends, but I didn't want to risk ripping the headliner. When you get the replacement, you can see exactly how it opens up.

Take those out, the mirror hinge drops from the roof. Unplug the two prong power connector that comes down with it. Plug in the Homelink visor, same exact plug, push wire back up into roof, put screws back in, snap on cover. Easiest thing I've done.

Caveat, I have a 95, and I put in a Homelink visor from a 99. I do not know if there's any plug differences on the 92-94, but I doubt it.

I found mine for $10 on eBay, it was a bit dirty, but Blue Coral Dri-Clean upholstery cleaner and brushing brought it back to new. Works great, powerful signal, opens the door from the end of the driveway.

Last bit of advice, the Homelink transponder will likely still have its last settings, so you'll need to clear it before programming by holding down the two outer buttons for up to a minute before it starts flashing. Mine did.
