I didn't think it would. It's been so long since I had stock fenders that I'm trying to remember what size wheel and tire combo would clear the oem fenders.
I'm running a similar spec to yours 18x10 +40 with 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rears. I still have plenty of space.
It sucks to have to run staggered tire sizes on a square wheel set up, but it's quite nice to be able to fit some real tire under these cars. After my clutch and LSD are broken in I'll work on finding an excuse to throw some extra tire in there.

Having a stickier tire is more fun than a wider tire.
Depends on ride height and camber, but front or rear?
Slightly lower offset in the front, I would say you're cutting it close
Slightly lower offset in the rear, should fit with no issues.
I meant to say in the front. I was thinking it would be pushing it and would rub. I have a set of the APT 50mm wide front fenders I could throw on but my new wheels aren't aggressive enough for them without massive spacers.

Right now, I rub if I turn fast and hit a bump/dip with the 18x10 +40 and 245/40/18. I would still be willing to go up to 255/40/18 because it only hits in a certain situation.
I test fit my 18x10 +40 with a 275/35/18 in the front. It'll fit, but most likely would rub going up and down driveways.
I hardly drove it around before rolling the fenders, but I don't think it would have at my ride height (but don't quote me on that).
did you roll the fronts or rear? I have 305 in the back and I really need to roll the rears not sure if that's going even help, might have to raise the car .5

Unfortunately that’s the price we pay for going with wider wheels up front when we’re low
trust me I gringed my teeth every time I turned...
I didn’t do much
Since goals have changed, and warm weather on the way I cleaned up my garage, unbolted 1uz/w58 excessive mounting kit and installed the w58 bell back on, so I can bolt it up to the 2j na/t I was working on for the last 2.3 years..
