Cool 93 sc300 5 speed for $1200

I just came up on a (Black)1993 SC300 5-speed with 190k miles sooo stoked but it does need alot of body work. I am selling my 96 sc300 (auto) so as soon as thats sold I'll be able to put on my BOSS 18" Black Chrome rims on her and all the other goodies!

Ill upload some pixs tomorrow...

Why don't you just buy the 93 5spd SC and just transfer the parts over to your '96? Not only will you have most of the parts you'll need for the swap, but you'll have extra spare parts from the '93 to use in case parts from your '96 need to be replaced.

I'm going to agree with CrazySC300 on this one. Just buy the '93 for a cheap price and
use it for the parts car. The 96 will have working fogs and a few more features that you
will probably like. How many miles are on your '96?

Swapping everything over to the 96 would be the best way to go.

I would totally swap my 5 speed into my 96 but I dont have the money to do it. I need to sell the 96 to pay for the upgrade on the 93 5 speed. I am going to get the body work and paint all done for $1800.. So all in all I got a 93 sc 5speed for 3k lol SOOOOOO STOKED! I'll get some pixs up as soon as shes outta the shop. ^^^ and no the engine bay isnt red I bought it from some guy in santa monica who bought it from his friend the original owner.

bodywork and paint for 1800? how much was damaged? if its minimal then i'd keep it since its an original 5speed. if its pretty extensive i'd do the swap

^^^ theres body damage all around her. The only parts of the body thats doesnt need work are the hood trunk n roof. I mean this guy sucked at driving lol but for the amount of work it needs and a paint job for 1800 i cant go wrong. Black on Black 93 5 speed is pretty sick for 3k

I still think you're better off transferring the goodies from the '93 to the '96...So you buy the '93 for $1,200 and then get body work done for $1,800? That same $1,800 would be better spent on labor for getting all that good stuff from the '93 onto the '96. And on top of that, you get all the perks of owning a '95+ year model (Fog lights,Glass high-beams,Cupholder,Better looking tailights,etc...)

That's good news man. I am a firm believer in ultimately doing what I want to do for my projects despite what the "norm" may be. We all can't/don't think the same. So whatever you do, I hope it works out well. I do agree though that you should pull that 5 speed out and put it in the 96'. Pulling it out will enable you to get a good look at it and see if it needs any components changed or even upgraded if you choose to. That car has 190K on it, you know. You MAY end up spending more in the long run getting the 93' up to par. I also understand budgets. Everybody can't just dump $10K in their car immediately. So if you have another car and you're set on keeping the 93', one thing to maybe do is sell the 96', but use that change to overhaul that 93'. I would drop that 5 speed and the motor and have everything that need to be overhauled done (Timing, AC, shocks, etc). No point in having a 93' 5 speed with fresh paint sitting in the garage because it doesn't run. Just some ideas, but whatever you do have fun doing it.
