Black Out
I am a new SC300 owner, having the 300 passed down to me while my dad got a 400.
I love cars, and especially making my car look good. So far I have put 17" black 9 spoke rims on my car and I like the look.
Should I paint over the original pearl white coat and go black? or any other form of black to match rims?
Smoke the tail lights?
I am probably going to tint the windows to 20%.
Any tips/advice/opinions would be awesome. Pics would be nice too.

can i paint the car black over the original white paint? what is the usual cost for black paint job?
as for the tinting, my driver side window clicks loudly when it goes all the way down. I think a pad is missing, or the motor is dying. will that effect the tint?
and tail lights, all black? spray or film?
im just getting into the car game, not sure of looks/effects yet

don't just paint over the white paint. you have to sand it down. its not something you do in a couple days its a huge commitment. if anything just sell it and buy a black sc.
as for a blacked out sc this is by far may favorite:

It all depends on your budget. You spend more you usually get more quality work. I would paint it black and smoke the tails and tint the windows if you have the time and money. Its all in what you want. Jmo.

I would suggest repainting the car or buying a black SC. Painting the car is a lot of work if you do it yourself and you should never paint over your existing paint.
If you have a 92-94 SC with stock tails, I'd recommend blacking those out using paint or vinyl. I had mine painted black by a local body shop and the color is glossy and it matches my car's black paint. I can post pics if you want?
For the tint, I would go with 5% tint all around to be honest with you. It is tough to see at night in poorly lit areas but it adds privacy, keeps your car a lot cooler than 20%, and would look better if you plan on blacking out the car. I would recommend fixing your window's issue before tinting it though. It shouldn't harm the tint unless it is being scraped when the windows are going up or down.

year is 1992, pushing 200,000 miles.
in washington the legal limit is 35%. i don't mind paying for the tint, but getting ticketed for it is not my plan, it is a secondary offense however, so i would just have to be careful.
If i stick with the pearl white, i think the smoked tail lights would be sick. is paint cheaper than vinyl?
post pics please

I paid $100 to get mine painted. You can buy the spray paint at Pep Boys or another local car store, but most cars I've seen look terrible. I'm guessing vinyl would be cheap as well and it's removable.
I'll post some pics. They look even better in person.
