Default valve cover gaskets

Just a simple question, I wasn't too sure whether or not it matters--should I drain the oil from my car before I change the valve cover gaskets? I have a 93 sc400 with the 1-UJ v8.

I wouldn't. It's not like the oil is gonna be anywhere but in the pan for the most part. But most importantly, I usually like to do an oil change right after doing any work inside the engine's confines. That way, any little bits and pieces (gasket, etc.) that may fall into the oil drain gallies will have a chance to be flushed out promptly instead of driving around with it in there until your next oil change interval.
