Default Removing manul shift boot?

Need some input from experienced hands. I am in the middle of replacing my worn manual shift boot with a not-so-worn one.

After removing the trim that holds it... i see that it is sandwiched with some plastic bezel. And it is fastened together by some plastic round caps. Any ideas on how to get them off?

Tried searching, and only thing i read briefly was somebody using a soldering iron to melt them? Any other methods on how to dismantle it to remove the boot?

u dont need to remove the trim. just open the little door where the cigarette lighter is and yank out the black plastic around the boot.

I did that... i was talking more about detaching the actual boot from the black plastic. Any ideas?
