Default 268 or 272 Camshafts?

I'm building an NA-t motor and not sure what size grind I should go with 268 or 272? Any help or explanation on what to do?

I would try searching in the performance section, or supraforums.

It's hard to say without knowing what your goals are? Hp, turbo size, etc.
Since you're obviously going to invest some money to have them custom made for you, I'd go with the 272's from the beginning and call it a day.

Hopefully, you're aware that cams for the SC(NA Engine) must have the drive(spindle) on the end of the exhaust cam for the distributor and there's no company to my knowledge that makes them. That's unless you've removed your distributor, which will enable you to run any TT cam setup.? Check out webcams, they custom make the regrinds to whatever spec/duration/lift that you want for the NA.

272 on a na motor is very agressive and WILL for certain make your motor a interference motor meaning is timing belt lets loose or timing tentioner lets loose valves will collide with piston top and tuning on high lift high duration cams will diminish driveability somewhat..

i have the 268's which put me right at the edge of not being interference , got a nice lope at idle but man do they open the turbo up in mid right to redline .. between going from a .68 hot side housing to a .81 and the addition of cams , car went from 480 ish rwhp at 23psi to 561 rwhp at 21 psi, so 2 lbs less boost and picked up a tad over 80 rwhp

stay with the stock N/A cams. You don't need 268 or ANY sized cams other than stock until you push past 600rwhp. And by the time you are at 500+rwhp, you'll know what setup you want and will be able to make that choice for yourself.

again, NO cams.

Actually senor, not all correct. It depends on the lift of the cam and all brands are different of course so here's an example for you. Titans 272 cams come in two different variations/durations with one being a 9.45mm lift and the and the 9.6 lift.

The 9.6 High lift is what Terry has which require a Valve Spring upgrade!

The 9.45 doesn't and that's the cams in which I've gone with so we'll know very soon how they behave on the NA head..

Ed, also remeber big Dave has the HKS 272's and they didn't even require a valve Spring upgrade and his lobe on his idle isn't that bad at all...

I decided to go with TTC's 268 grind. With that w58 tranny I kno I'm limited but I figured build the motor now so I won't have to pull it again.
So far I have:
Brian Crower titanium springs and retainers
GTE oil pump
Eagle rods
Wiseco pistons (.40 Oversize bore)
Brian Crower 87mm head gasket
ARP Head Studs
With a Stage 2 SRT turbo kit (off an is300)
