DIY: Releasing valet feature when you do not have master key
I ran into a problem where the valet feature got turned on(pushed in). Unfortunately, my one and only key does not open the trunk, or unlock the valet feature. So I had no way into my trunk. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but if someone could have told me this it would have been nice!
You need to remove the entire panel to access the back of the lock.

Once you've done this, you should see a copper looking clip surrounding the base of the lock. Simply pull this off with your fingers, or pry with a small screwdriver.
When this is removed, take a small screwdriver and press the small black button (now exposed) in, and towards the left. It will pop back down, and the lock will be out of "valet" mode.
SUPER easy fix. Reinstall the clip, and panel and your good to go.

I actually read it on here on a thread from like 2002. I couldn't understand what he was really talking about, but after digging around I got it.
Yes, if the valet feature is on. To turn it on, all you do is push the lock in. If its pushed in, and you cannot unlock it with your key this will be the trick to fixing it.
