Hey I had that same problem at one point and what I did was take a flat head screw driver (or a coin) and there's 2 big flat head srews on bottom left and bottom right (Don't srew them out). I know for a fact they are adjusters for something, that enables the tape adapter to transmit sound. Turn them and keep inserting it to Cassette player until you find sound from ur Mp3.

anyone has the issue of cassette not staying in the deck. transmit sound for 2 seconds and spits the tape back you.

I use a Sony cassette to aux. And it worked fine when I had my stock head unit. I remember paying like 17 dollars for it.

I second going with this route. I bought an aftermarket stereo, but this is a good idea.

Vandim540i, thanks for the info. Did you do this to your 99, anything different I should know. Also, I'm guessing music from the ipod comes on once the ipod is turned on which interupts the signal between the radio, amp and cd changer.

Wire in an Fm modulator that plugs into where the antenna does. The little teeth on all the universal tape to mp3 players are too small and they don't catch.

I was never able to get this to work but there is a writeup on how to make it so you can run off the cd player.....

its under the DIY section......really simple to do and works great.

Which wires exactly? you did it without all the relays? Because that seems like more with than my fm modulator plug in was..
