i had the same problem with mine last year. i would be driving and out of nowhere the car would lose all power(lights, gauges, engin shut off) absolutely everything then it would turn on and be fine. it happened about 10 times over the summer then i put in a new battery and it has never happened since so maybe try a new battery

I believe the battery is new..at least it looks very new..one thing i was going to check though is the connections to it and make sure its strapped down properly..i was leaning towards this to being with but i know that cars can run without a battery after being started so wasnt sure if that would be an issue.

Before you go and drop $100 on a good new battery, check to make sure the connection is good and there is a solid connection on the battery and the wires. And make sure they are on tight.

One time when I reconnected my negative terminal via the little twist on quick connector I didn't tighten it completely snug and that happened.

definately check for loose terminal connections and clean terminals. if all else fails, check distributor/coil. autozone can test the coil for free.

well..popped the hood connections are very good..i then realized i have NOTHING holding the battery in place so it easily slides side to side..what happened was it slid into the power steering canister(burn mark on it and the positive on the battery) obviously causing a short for a second until it slid back over...easy enough fix..strap it down!!!!
