Default electric fan sc300

im debating on doing this..my friend has two fans from his rsx type s that i can use..they look like they should fit no problem..but my question is how do you guys wire up the fans..

i dont want a ghetto rigged switch hook up
so any insight on this would be appreciated

also just any info about using electric fans on these cars..would be helpful..
i am doing research but havent really found what im looking for..thanks

+1 I would also like to know how to wire them up... correctly.

On my last car, noone could ever give me a direct answer... just hack jobs on how to, that were pretty dangerous.

Default I looked into it....

Like you, I looked into changing to electric. The general view seemed to be that its not worth the effort unless you need the additional room behind the radiator, like for turbo, etc. Because the oem fan is hydraulic, you have to seal off the plumbing. Additionally, an idler pulley has to be mounted on a fabricated bracket so you can use the original serpentine belt - if you just use a smaller belt, you're asking for slippage problems. No one was able to document any power gains from eliminating the oem fan. Maybe someone else can correct or update what I found, but I discarded the idea. Good luck if you do it and post your progress.

well after hearing that it definitely sounds like something i dont want to do haha..
id much rather eFans however if its a hassle then id rather not mess with it..
i just really do not like fans that get louder the higher you rev the engine..

of course if any one else with efans wants to chime in please do id like to hear more but as of right now ill probably just leave it be..simpler that way i suppose

Being on the supra forums they vote to go with the oem fan blades. The oem fan will most likely cool your car better. Electric fans eventually start to wear and that will result in less cooling.

What plumbing are you talking about? And as far as an idler pulley... I don't understand why you would need that. The clutch fan is just bolted onto the water pump isn't it? So wouldn't you just need to unbolt the fan?

Just run a wire to your fuse box and let them run all the time. I've been doing this for a couple of years and my SC runs cool as coolness =^)

Wow allot of bad info here. To write up your fan correctly you buy a $ 30 fan kit that has a sensor for the temp of your car. There is no plumbing behind the fan and no pulley to be made....

This sounds like a hassle. I thought hooking up electric fans would be a lot easier?
