Let me start of by saying I have searched and did find some informative threads on this topic. Especially the DIY SAFC install, however I am wondering since the SAFC is an outdated product is there something currently better on the market? I plan on eventually buying some form of piggyback a/f controller for my 95 SC400 and having it professionally tuned on a dyno. I plan on only having bolt ons (bfi and axleback) and I'm not looking to turn my SC into a hp monster but free up power where its possible and mostly improve fuel economy. I read in one thread someone freed up 28whp with a good tune, while dramatically improving fuel economy because the 4.0 runs really rich under WOT. So back to the original question, is the apexiSAFC or SAFC2 still the best for what I want to accomplish?

 

Look into AEM FIC 8. You have more control over an SAFC because you can control both fuel and timing.
