Default Grippin wood when driving

I finally found an 01 rx300 airbag and wanted to share my new steering wheel. Had to mount the old cruise control and change out the grounding wire, but everything works great. I really enjoy it.

Houston has been raining for over a week and just had a chance to wash both the cars.

I like the outcome, but I also like the original one. Great job.

Thanks for the nice comments.

I find it weird how the wheel matches my shift **** more than the wood trim because the shift **** is stock since my car is a 98.

Looking good. I always wanted a wooden steering wheel, had one but had a heck of a time getting a hold of a compatible airbag. Elabrate more on the cruise contol please. I swapped out to a newer wheel but now my CC doesnt work

Let's see, when I got my new wheel it had a cruise control switch already on it and it plugged in just fine to the hub. Unfortunately the wiring was different, so I went back to my old steering wheel and took the cruise control switch.

If you notice on your old steering wheel, the ground wire looks like its riveted in. So what I did was just removed that wire from the plug itself and used the ground from the new CC switch (which had a butt connector).

After that was done, just screwed in my old CC switch to the new wheel and it worked perfect. Hoped that helped somewhat.

It's funny how just that and a gated shifter really makes it look like a newer car

That looks awesome man! This rain has been crazy. It's been raining like crazy in Dallas and it finally stopped in Oklahoma City. It's supposed to be 100 degrees and sunny during the summer, not 80 degrees and rainy.

That's so true. My friend's 95 LS has a gated shifter and it makes the car look ten years newer than my SC. I want one so bad along with that steering wheel.
