My 98 Sc300

Hello. I just got done installing all of my little parts in the car yesterday and wanted to share some pictures. I'm really enjoying the SC and hope to keep it forever. Now I have to try and drive the car into the ground so I can do a swap.

-LS 400 calipers
-Home Depot Lip
-BC racing coils ( Got it from Circuit Motorsports, great service )
-Toyota Window Visors

Home Depot lip?

Any close up pics?

With such a nice car, and expensive parts.... why would you skip on the aero and make a lip from Home Depot?

This is the lip halfway done. I still had to sand down the binding spots.

I think for the price and purpose of a front lip, the DIY I've seen on the forums is well worth it. It flows well with the OEM sideskirts too. I like the BIG WIN but that's crazy money and wait time.

Absolutely beautiful. Seems your off to a good start.

romycha1 06-12-10 10:22 AM

Makes sense...

The reason I ask, is because I just saw an Eclipse with garden lining for the lip and rain gutters for the skirts...

so I had that in my mind when I read your post

Looks really good. How do you like the BC coils? I've been thinking of picking some up..

01gs3 06-12-10 10:55 AM

Thanks for the compliments.

Romycha1, I understand where you're coming from. I had the same thought when I saw the DIY thread for the lip, but the material used was real nice compared to the big chunky garden trim that you usually see. It's called Diamond lock used to outline pavers.

Hope to be where you are turbodremz... someday, sigh...

I am really surprised with the BC's. I am a tein guy through and through, but the BC's are very nice. Ride is comfortable for the height and there seems to be tons of room to go lower. Keep in mind though that I don't track the car or push the suspension to its' limits. I think for the average user it's a "best bang for your buck" purchase. Also for reference, my coilovers are 12k/8k with solid upper mounts.

nothing wrong with a DIY lip if you do it properly... which you have done.

Thats a very nice looking SC. I also like the flow of the IS rims with that color. I just wish that I could get the BBK to clear my aftermarket rims.

Quick question

For the LS400 Calipers you have installed, what size rims are you using? Do you have to use spacers to fit the lexus rims on the wheel hub? Thanks, for your reply.

SpiderN9NE 06-12-10 02:26 PM

nice

nice sc3. its coming along quite nicely.

to help with running it into the ground check out the classifieds. i have an intake that might help.

01gs3 06-12-10 03:02 PM

Appreciate the kind words everyone.

RonJulien, I specifically bought the IS250/350 wheels to clear the BBK, since my oem 16's wouldn't cut it. There's a thread if you search that goes over OEM wheels that clear BBK's. I wish I had more spare cash to get real wheels, but just had to stay in budget. Good luck whichever route you go.

SpiderN9NE, haha love the intake-ad plug.
