Default Gas Cover wont open

Like the title says my gas cover wont open by the lever next to the trunk lever near the steering wheel. I have to go into the trunk everytime and use the manual release. Not sure if theirs an easy fix or something.

This happend when i left my car to get repainted a for a few months and since i got the car back it has not worked since.

Thanks!

Locate the fuse that controls the gas lid.

The body shop probably forgot to plug the fuel door solenoid back in. Take it back to them for this corrective action.

^ where is the fuel solenoid? checking the fuse now, is it in the driver box or engine box?

I would take it back to the shop but its a 45 min drive and not worth the gas

If you hear it clicking when pulling the lever in the car but it's not opening, probably you need to stretch the spring thingy, 'cause it tends to lose its springiness in time. Seriously though, you'd see it in between the hinges.

Also when you get it open check for the little spring. It doesn't come on new gas doors and they might have forgot to transfer. I have had a few come into my shop with same issue. Also that spring wears out and wont pop the door open anymore

When I had my old SC, I had to buy the entire door to fix this. The dealer told me you can't just replace the spring or the lever. I don't remember the details, it's been a while but I looked at it over and over and agreed I needed to buy the door.
Hopefully you don't.
