Hey guys this SC400 has been around my house for 10 years and I totaled it a few months ago, so here's a few pics so that younger drivers are aware of what happens late at night.
I have some more pics in an album

I don't really remember because I was knocked out for a while but I think I fell asleep and jumped a curb, they had to take the roof off to get my girlfriend out. But I have no doubt that we both wouldn't have survived in almost any other car

Being a fireman, I figured they took the roof for a reason. To hold C-spine, or check for a pulse, etc. I knew when I saw the frontal impact you hit something hard. They prolly had to roll the dash a bit to clear you or your girlfriends legs. I hate to see this with any car, but glad you are ok and you able to take pictures and let us see on the SC community. It apperared to hold up pretty well, due to the speed and what you hit.

It would be all squeezed into the condenser if it was there to begin with. Or maybe there wouldn't have been so much penetration into the engine bay if it had been there. My guess is someone removed it at some point.
I see this done by a lot of people who've modded therir front bumper...needless to say, it's a horrible idea!
Glad you and your girl made it through this ok. Go buy a lotto ticket now
