supercharging v8
If you go with a low boost M90 and a good free flowing exhaust, you will be OK.
The M112 will need a bit of modifying to fit and is good for a bit more boost.
Then there is the Eaton TVS, a very good blower.
My preference is the Whipple which I am using, must admit that I have some problems due to miss information and some very bad tuning done here in Brisbane, 2 1/2 years and another motor and I am finally getting somewhere.
There is a very good tuner in Melbourne that is getting great results from set ups similar to mine now, 300RWKW with the Whipple,12 lbs of boost, 440cc inj, exhaust, water meth inj and a Wolf V500 stand alone ECU.
I just need to get my car down to him to tune it properly.
Mine

My advice would would be to go with the M90, a Bullett manifold kit, a good exhaust including headers and a water meth kit to help control detonation.
You should be around your $5000 figure or a bit under it.
If you want to upgrade later it can be done.
