Getting a FMIC for my car.. need to know the correct size/recommended brand to fit under a 97+ front bumper. If anyone can chime in that would be great! Thanks

thats the same size Im using on my SC, and it seems to fill the bumper nicely, although I still have the stock 92 front, so Im sure it would look great behind the 97+.

2.5" is good and can squeeze under the headlight or through the stock fender hole.
if you are going for big power than you can go 3", but you may need to make a hole where the stock airbox used to be to get that piping to the intercooler.

The sc bumper has a lot of space, especially behind the crashbar. you can fit most larger intercoolers if you route the piping just right.

I went with Supra HKS 2.5 hard pipe kit on turbo side half way then link it with a silicone reducer to a 3" hard pipe the rest of the way.

I'm running 32"x12"x4" FMIC. Way over kill. I'm propably switch to Greddy 3 Row when I get the money.

close but thats not the right kit. you want the one with 2 types of every bend. the 90, the 45, and the 75 degree bends. you wont be using the half circle U ones at all. I did order mine from cxracing though, it came with 2 of every bend i listed plus some straight pieces and one U that i never used.

edit: found it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CXRac...Q5fAccessories

I ordered a fmic and piping kit from CX racing, but it wasnt by any means a bolt on kit for the SC. My buddy ended up just using some of the kit plus some extra piping he had and welding up a slightly more custom set up.

yeah, thats true its not a bolt on affair, but if you go to advanced auto they have pipe cutters on their "lend a tool" thing ($40 deposit they give you back when you return it).

I just started mocking it up one pipe at a time and cutting where needed and use the couplers to join them. its kind of like a lego set but that kit has more than the pieces you need. if you are running high enough boost to blow off couplers then you can just remove the problem couplers and get it welded.

bolt on kits are expensive though, and If I had to buy a bolt on affair type kit, it wouldnt be for a 2jz because the cold side is pretty useless for na-t setups. I always wanted to see how well a kit for a 7mgte would fit in our cars because they have the same manifold setup, but i suspect some of the lengths around the bumper could be off.
