no I know of that has been in here already. I would think it would work well as in more or less the same, but you will have to do alot less wiring really because you already have the right ignition system and I think the right maf sensor. only question is will odb2 work, but i think that can be sorted out also but havent confirmed it yet

I wonder if this would work better than the Motorola map?

Neither will work.

Toyota used non-linear scaling on their MAPs.

So, what would be the most economical/reliable way to run 550's with a jdm ecu? I've read that an safc isn't the safest way and doesn't work well with the map based ecu. Others say its not that big of a change and should run 550's fine?

a member on here who said the safc worked well for his 550's.
that is the most economical way that we know works, a map ecu or emanage or FIC would be better but cost more.
It really isn't that big of a change, and the 2.5 bar seems to throw the ecu off too much.
the simple piggybacks actually work better on the map based turbo ecu's than the maf ones apparently

I remember reading an article that said the jdm ecu could learn to run the 550's by letting the o2 sensor learn, but I imagine it would still run rich especially in boost, but with a big enough turbo some people see that as a good thing. with the fuel controller you can lower the fuel % (cause of the larger injectors) and it raises boost cut at the same time.

What do you mean by that? This looks linear to me:

(not trying to sound like a schmuck, and yes I understand why those other MAP's won't work.)

I think it is the offset that is the problem. just use the TT sensor guys.
you can spend a bunch of time/money trying to find a replacement sensor which some of us have tried and it does not run properly.

I know no one cars about the old trucks but more of what has been taking my project time.
waiting on couplers and the exhaust gasket to get in. then I gotta convert to electric fuel pump and boost references regulator and seehow it performs.
If the carb runs too sloppy it will get a whole 22ret turbo intake manifold ecu and harness and im going to use my stock 2jzge injectors on it.

I care about adding power to anything - even my electric mobility scooter.

lol, that would be pretty sweet actually.
My new outlook on all car related problems is to just slap a turbo on it.

On another note as good as the car is running, I noticed that my wastegate dump smells a whole lot more now after a run, I guess its that solid rich 10 AFR in boost. I really should get that dumptube routed to the DP.
I feel like the car would pick up a little more power running in the 11 afr range so maybe a fuel controller is in order as well.
