Sorry Dude...
No Purring here..

(Just kidding. Wish you lived close so I could take you for a spin.)

They really run just like a stock Supra with a big single turbo setup if you follow the tested path and maybe even if you don't ultimately, as our few 97+ guys have proven.

no one converts a maf signal to a map based ecu cause well you would just use a map sensor already on a map ecu so there is no device for that conversion.

I think 660's it the normal max for the jdm ecu, people run larger but you will probably take a little driveability hit. if you are thinking 1000cc on pump gas then its standalone time.
Ahhhhh okay that makes more sense. Thank you. Ill just go with a SAFC then.

Ali, been doing the mounting portion of my 1zz coils, and I ran into a question, if the 1zz coils send their own IGF signal then do I really need the ds62 igniter?

Thanks for the answer.

on the 1zz aka "internally ignited" coils you do not need a seperate ignitor. With 2jzgte coils you need a 6 channel ignitor (GTe one not the ds62/dh61 3-channel for vvti coils)
The difference in wiring is each one needs power and each one needs ground.
Each one also puts out its own IGF, so you must connect all 6 IGF wires together to the stock IGF wire.
Then it will fire up and run properly.

Hate ask a redundant question, but I can effectively delete the wiring going to the igniter, yes? And run the coils directly to the ecu, the igniter no longer serves a purpose.

exactly, on the 1zz/2zz coils the harness goes straight from the coils to the ecu. there is no seperate ignitor.
just noticed the coil mount, looks nice.. did you 3d print that?

Lol, no Ali, I simply took the original spark plug cover flipped it upside down, trimmed some of the metal on it, and then welded mounts for the coils. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Again thanks removing all the non essentials from my wiring harness it's really simplifying everything.

OK........ MAYBE 660's.......
studiogeek. Map ecu3 is a great piggyback if your power goals are under 800. highest map ecu car made 962 or so on e85. So you have nothing to worry about. And 1000cc can be done with aristo ecu. idle and cruising tune are the sensitive parts. I agree with the fact that you are going with 550cc. You can get close to 500 on those injectors. And tuning them with the map ecu 3 is not that bad as its only a 25 percent fuel change. If you can get a conservative tune with the 550, you will be happy. btw car is coming along. gl

407will. Are you referring to the 1zz coil install or tt ecu mod? Either is pretty straight forward install for the right person.

ahh very creative, I was looking for the weld spots but couldn't see them, either way nicely done never thought about that one

The video does sound great, collecting parts is the funnest part once you get that going you will be itching to install it from there.

The tt ecu mod is pretty straight forward just take it one step at a time, and remember, always practice common sense

Start making your spreadsheet with the things you know you will need already. Others will chime in on what else you need and help you decide what brands to get.

The routes vary wildly. You can't get a price until the important decisions are made on route and parts. That said, others can chime in on what they paid.
