well i think i figured out my problem.... this sensor says "boost pressure sensor" and has 89421 12111 for a part number..... this leads me to believe its not a JDM map sensor and in fact is a USDM map sensor that comes on the tt supras that have a maf and a pressure sensor

The number on my map sensor is different. #89421-12110

Wanted to see what parts.com would pull up.
89421-12111 - Came up with 94-98 Supras
89421-12110 - Didn't pull up anything, which means it's not sold in the US

I would think you have a USDM sensor. That website is pretty reliable, I used in when I worked for a car warranty company.
If the part number has superceded it will give you the new number. The number I have says it can't be found.

No, it's not running yet. Hell I don't even have a motor or transmission in. But I'm going the same route.

Hope this is your fix!

I bought mine over a year ago on Supra Forums.

What numbers do you have under the toyota part number?

More research says they are interchangeable.....

jdm and usdm are the same different part numbers. what kind of iat are you guys using. if you dont have that wires up right it will affect the map, same with incorrectly wired tps.

usdm map sensor , aristo map sensor , 1jzgte map sensor they will all work unless you bought the 4bar omni map sensor which will not work on the stock ecu.

As long as you can pull the codes you are in good shape!

edit Ali posted while i was typing.

Im using a jdm aristo IAT i guess, so which way is it supposed to be wired up? ill switch it around and see if it helps

So your sure the usdm and jdm are the same??? even though the usdm is used with a maf and the jdm is used primarily for afm?

yes its the same because the US ecu uses the same map sensor to get a boost reading for fuel cut. even though its not used for fueling it is the same map sensor.
so you have the signal wire in the middle spot on the connector, and the ground and 5v on the outer spots.

are you guys leaving the maf pin connected to b66 and jumping it to b62. if you are that is not correct, you actually need to remove the pin from the connector and move the pin to b62, do not leave anything in b66 it can have an effect on the signal.
