Question Exhaust Questions

I understand that our cars have three cats....? I think I would like to remove this 'middle muffler' and have two new mufflers put on the rear, preferably the round stainless can type.

Two questions.

1. Can anybody tell me how loud it would be by removing that middle muffler? I plan on adding the new rear mufflers, regardless. I like it a little louder...'exotic' sounding prefered...So, should I keep that middle muffler, or have um cut it out?

2. What would be a good make/model of the stainless steel long silver can with rounded tip muffler...(sorry, don't know if thats such a good description) ....website?

Thanks in advance...

Altering the exhaust in any way will make it louder. Lexus did a good job of quieting it down.

Try just swaping out the rear mufflers for your polished cans. You'd be amazed at how much louder it will be. Remember to still leave those rear resonators on.

If you remove that center cat/muffler, remember to replace it with some other form of muffling device (i.e. free flow cat or straight thru muffler). Or else it will be noticably louder.

I think that I will be going w/ dynomax mufflers. They're reasonably priced and from what I hear people are pleased w/ the results. You could also go w/ magnaflows like Hoops did,, they look perfect on the car,, but I would want a little more than just added bass. Let us know what you decide to do.

I'm going w/ the Dynomax Ultra Flow's - Heard nothing but good news about them on our cars.
