1. Depends on what you're trying to do. If you want to do alot of mods go with the 300. If you want a refined coupe go with the 400.
2. Basically yes.
3. Affordable? Upwards of $10k installed for the 300. Depends on how much cheese you have. The 400 turbo/supercharger is "in development"
4. No comprende??
5. Your question is worde bass ackwards. The SC 300/400 is the same and the GS 300/400 is basically the same.
There are plenty of experts here that I am sure will correct any inaccuracies.

4. for the years/ models question: 92-96 was the first model,, and for 97-00 they added a grill, new bumpers, new sideskirts, and the rounded fog lights. But all-in-all if you decided to go w/ the first model, it doesn't really look like an "old" car IMO.

1995 SC300 5sp.
707... I'd suggest a new SN -- LexLethor is already a senior member here, and you'll be easily confused with him.
John
EDIT: I'll be a little nicer... We see this question allot, so you might want to try the search button to get some really good answers. The 1995 year is good because it has OBDI and the transmission tunnel is large enough for the getrag 6sp tranny (an awsome 1,000 HP capable tranny)
As far as the best turbo kit for the 2JZ-GE it would be the Toyomoto kit. www.toyomoto.com Interior changes are small, relatively few.

Lexus Champion
SilverBolt, actually, as far as cosmetic changes, it's 92-94, 95-96, and 97-2K. For drivetrain changes, it's 92-95, 96-97, and 98-2K.
SupraCoup, what's up JohnJohn? Just signed the papers on an '02 RX300 for Deb today, Silver over Black lthr, taking delivery this Thurs. Already talked her into letting me add the pieces from the '01 Special Edition, speed grille and what not.

Sweet... Lexii family! (Proab. shouldn't say Family too loud tho right? )
Jon, if you're interested, I've got the hookups on Toyota & TRD parts @ a little more than cost... By tuesday, I'll hopefully have the same deal for Lexus Parts.
BTW: Parts & Service @ Dealerships turn an amazing profit.
