Ive only ever driven one lexus and it was a 91 ls400 and a hunk of ****... but i noticed it has the bright white electrolumonescent display... I was reading someones website and it said in 94 or around there lexus changed from white to amber guages... does this mean a 96 has amber guages like a different color than an ls400... thats probably my most favorite feature of the ls400 and was hoping the sc had it too... i currently have a 2000 maxima and im saving up right now for a 96 sc400 so in about 6 mo i will be changing my user name

Im sure someone else knows better than me but Im pretty sure the sc has always had amber needles and the ls has always had white ones. our 92 and 02 LSs both have white ones.

I've been looking at SCs for a while- it appears the '97-up cars had white gauges (may have changed to white in '95, can't say for sure).

I also prefer the white gauges- can someone shed some white light on this?

ya it was actually your site where i read this... are they electrolumonescent amber or incadescent amber like the new altima (blah)???
Is it possible to just change out the bulbs?

92-94 had white lights and amber needles in 95-96 they went to amber lights and needles. Also with the ac lcd screen on the 92-94 are a blueish green color where in the 95-96 the ac lcd is amber.

My car has a 94 gauge cluster and it has amber lights and red needles.

Heres a pic of my guages, they look white compared to the amber 95 guages I've seen.

i own a 95 sc400.. and my guage cluster is amber.. how did u get your cluster to be white.. did u change out the bulbs.. ive seen the 97 sc's have white lights... can someone please inform me with more info.. i would really apprec...

Dude, that's very weird. So there are two versions out there for the 95s?

Sorry forgot to clarify, mine is actually a 93.

ooohh... for some reason I thought we were talking about the needles. The gauges definately did change in the scs... I think in 98 but I'm not sure. They arent really that much different in terms of color.. just brighter.
