Apple's new Ipad in SC
 

I just watched apples presentation of its new Ipad, and instantly thought of putting it where my radio is. If you haven't seen it, it is basically a large Ipod touch. It measures 9.56 by 7.47 inches with a .5 inch depth. I haven't measured anything yet, and the product wont be released for another couple months, so I have time to figure out how to do it.

Also, I really appreciate the DIY threads. They have saved me plenty of money and time. Hopefully, I can add one on how to do this down the road.

I would love to here some ideas. To have my Itunes library, gps apps, and full internet in my SC will be freaking sweet.

Icing on the cake would be an EMS interface. Imagine doing tuning with it.

wont work, cause it does not have a real OS. think of the ipod touch just bigger. no camera, no usb inputs, no external memory, no multi-tasking, no flash, no hdmi, not even widescreen 16:9 its still 4:3, etc. so really, can not power your car entertainment and it sucks as a tablet pc or even a netbook. get an ipod touch or the iphone.

When I first heard about this product I thought that Apple was getting into the feminine hygiene business.

For the price, you can get a more capable laptop/netbook and avoid your friends joking you about your $1,000 tampon.

I totally agree but there are those among us who are so obcessed with Apple and their products that you could actually write (with a Sharpie) "Ipad" on a feminine hygiene product and they would buy it.

Why spend less for more capability when you can waste your money on less?

Things like this always have some kind of bugs in them that need to be worked out.
I'd say wait a bit and see how they are...during that time the price will fall aswell!

you could just use an imac with a headunit as the monitor instead, theres a thread around CL with something like that done

if you want a PC in your car, just get a Carputer..The Iphone is one thing, a BIG Iphone that has half the features is another thing-a waste of time and money...its an oversized laptop that doesnt close.

Yea, it seems like more of a fun gadget to fool around with when you are buzzzed.
