I agree, the key is needed. Now if the SC300 had some type of setup like the Infiniti FX35/45 with the intelligence/tech package, the key can stay in your pocket and the car will start if you are in proximity to it. Makes me miss my Infiniti.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but what I am saying is that you don't see this guyss hands after he presses the button, and this would be too stupid of a mod in my opinion. Plus, why is he using his left hand instead of the right one which is closest to the button.
Glad to see your thinking its impossible but yeah it took me a long time to come up with this setup... i have secondary ignition key hole that is tapped into the main ignition .. that went under steering column and its permanently kept on run position hidden and the wires are tapped into main ignition key .. there is a switch that cuts off the circuit using a relay setup.. at the time i didn't have a toggle switch i just had a simple push and hold in button so it wouldn't stay on the permanently so i had to a hold button cause as soon as i would let off the button it would shut off and the button is on the over by the courtesy lights where the the sunroof controls are..normally you would use a toggle switch have it go to the run position. and the power button supplies the voltage to the starter

For example:

Honda s2000 require the key in the ignition to be able to push and start the car.

New altimas are a bit more advance, they have wireless key recognition and it has to be placed in a certain area before being able to use the push button start.

It's a safety feature for the well being of your car.

If you don't want that, then go for it and do it and have a high risk of somebody being able to steal your car with ease!

he even planned the stealing part out there is a separate part that u need to put a password into in order to start the car

the new lexus' the key only needs to be inside the car then push and start the point of push to start is to avoid putting the key in the ignition ...
if u put the key in the ignition u might as well take the extra second to turn it...

Interesting... What are you using to control crank time and hold the ignition wires on during operation? Are you using a traditional remote start with the activation input wired to the OEM volume ****? I'd be interested to see the components you used.

Exactly what I was getting at... seems like a pointless mod if you still need to put the key in

I debated for a while too, I REALLY wanted to have it operate my aftermarket head unit, but couldn't figure it out, so I wired mine to the 2-Step Rev limiter with the AEM EMS.

Sounds like alot of pros and cons here on this subject. Why does everyone hate a new possible DIY? Give the guy some credit. Not every DIY mod will be at everyones liking.

How come your video didnt show us you entering the code to know how legit it is? then after you tell us where your car is located! I dont think that's such a smart thing but its my opinion, that key pad will look a lil bit ugly in a clean interior.
