Does any of you know how the auto trans. shift kit works.

Well, it's not a 'shift kit' like you'd find on a GM automatic (springs, valves, *****, and what not), but an entire valve body is offered which has the capability to completely alter the shifts. The other approach is electronic, for instance the Supra auto shifts crisper than the Lexus auto, but they are basically the same trans, the valve body is the same, the difference is in the programming the ECU handles the trans with.
