Default Anyone Replace Power Steering Pump Hose?

We replaced mine today but there is a sensor at the end of the line that Im confused about. There was no connector or wiring to plug in on my car so we left it off? What is that connector for on the PS line and why wouldnt my car have a harness to plug into it?

Reason for replacing was a good sized leak on the line. Now after flushing the ps system the wheel turns almost too easy like it's not there!
It's a 96 manual.

Any ideas?

It should plug to your PS pump. It controls the variable speed powersteering.

Default Anyone Replace Power Steering Pump Hose?

The connector is there on my car, 94 SC300. Reconnected it when I replaced my power steering hose. If you have the connector the plug should be there.

Can someone take a picture of where the harness is for this?
Like I said the hose had the plug but I cant find anything that will plug into it in the area.

Also when we took it off there was no connector plugged in to remove, it was empty before. My steering feels completely different, very sensitive and the wheel feels extremely light compared to before.

Did some years have this and others not?

I have this exact issue, when i replaced mine a while back it was not connected and i couldn't find the other half of the harness. Left it unplugged and haven't had any problems, but i've always wondered this too.

Maybe it doesn't plug in on 5 speed cars?

Did you replace just the hose because it was leaking? Thats what we did. The pump was not touched it was okay

Just the pressure line, yes. The sensor was present on the old line, but it wasn't connected to anything.

that is the same as my situation the sensor was there on the old and new line just cant find anything that will connect to it.

After flushing the power steering my wheel is so easy to turn that it's scary and I have big heavy 20s on there. I liked the heavier feel, has anyone else experienced this after flushing the power steering ? It feels way too sensitive and light now. I was told a bunch of crud came out of there and it was blaaaack

someone has to know about this empty connector?

There traditionally is two sensors and a selenoid on the sc300. As mentioned, these are used for the variable power steering system. When I redid my entire system, I removed and plugged both sensors.

The increase in sensitivity may be a result of them cleaning the filter screen on the rack by the selenoid. Over time this can get clogged which will result in loss of pressure. Mine was filthy!

I was losing power steering fluid every week and I had oil on the plastic tray below it.

No I believe if it's bubbling out at the top you have filled it too much

I got the high pressure hose used from a forum member, mine had a slight leak in it.

The hose was about 75 bucks used and like 300 new from lexus.
There is a site someone else mentioned the other day that sells an aftermarket line of SS for 65 dollars but I dont remember the site.
I wanted stock because its a crazy looking hose and didnt think aftermarket could do the same exact thing

Yo, if anyone knows the aftermarket site, I would appreciate it being posted!

Mine is leaking like crazy on the pressure hose. I refill my reseviour like every week and clean up my driveway as well! And the hose is about $428 from the stealership. I "heard" someone made an aftermarket one that cured the stock problems since this is a common problem for the SC's..

Yo took the time to find it lol

http://store.driftmotion.com/static/...k3mk4sc300.php

I feel the shape of the stock one is there for a reason, maybe to cool the fluid or create a certain feel in the steering, but this should be very close...perhaps better who knows.

I think theres a different one for sc300 and 400 and ijz obviously
