Here is what I would do.

I would get in my SC4 and drive to the dealer where you bought it from ASAP. I would make something up and start screaming at them something about a lemon or something and get your money back. Then I would rush over to the news stand and look for a SC300 5-speed. I'm a SC4 owner just like you. I am almost where I am about to give up my car and go SC3. If you want to make you SC4 really fast. You should sell it then buy a SC3 5speed and get F-max or Toyomoto Turbo kit.

Please run a search in the SC400 forums. You will find your information there. Too many duplicate threads.

if you think the SC400 can run w/ an RX-7, you do need help fast.

Go get yourself an SC300 5sp... then you'll have yourself a start.

but remember, if you want to run w/ an RX-7, you're gonna need a 2JZ-GTE. Do a search on it, plenty of stuff.

There are no computer issues with the 1994 SC400. There are turbo and supercharger kits for the SC400, but none as of yet are practically priced. If by "I got some cash" you mean "I got $12,000", then a nice custom 600bhps turbo kit is very easy to come by.

The SC400 is the luxo daily-commuter cruiser, and the SC300 5-speed is the (potential) turbo monster Viper-eating beast from hell. Kind of the opposite marketing image Lexus design them as, but what can you do? Get an SC300 5-speed, they are cheaper, but harder to find.

Any more questions or details on the matter and you can find them all covered in the archieves. Do a search on "SC400 turbo".
