will the 1UZ thermostat work in a 1JZ?

Not sure. Toyotas share alot of interchangeable parts but the water thermostat is one of those items thats not too expensive and could cause extesive damage if failure occurs. 2JZ is the same t-stat. Why take the chance 21.00 from toyota dealer.

they have the same gasket part number
