crazy temperature gauge needle (1jz) power-fc
lmao... this is no major concern for me, but i wanted to know if anyone experienced this as well. if so, what did you do to fix it?
this is the haps: i cranked my car up for the first time the other day, its a 1jz swapped sc300 with twin greddys, power fc, and i did the gauge cluster mod (where you bypass the resistor on the tach so that it will work n show rev). i dont remember the last time that i cranked it, having this problem so it has me a lil baffled. the temp gauge need just shot up to way past hot as soon as i started the car. i checked the power fc commander, and it was a cool 60 degrees Celsius.
mind you that the red overheat indicator didnt come on.
then i let it cool, and started it again, it did the same thing. even though the temp was climbing from 42 to 60 degrees over 10 minutes at idle... i watched the display on the power fc the entire time. so its not even close to the 80 degree optimum operating temp. so i just wonder what is making the gauge do this?
any input would be appreciated. thanks!

thanks jm94tt
-To make your temp gauge work, ground pin 24 on the same white plug on the body side(IK2). It is a brown/black wire between a pink and a black wire. I t-tapped into the brown/black wire and used the body ground behind the kick panel.
i was gonna close this post. but in case someone on here has the same problem.. sad part is, i remember doing this mod already from the beginning of my swap, but i did it YEARs ago, so when the downpipes were fabbed, it was ungrounded because the motor was pulled to do so. and we never re-connected it..
ill do it today. and im sure it will work. wire is already pulled from the jumper.!! will post pics and video soon.
