Ok,
After alot of careful thinking Iv'e decided the torque converter is what I want (the other consideration was the ecu rebuild.) The issue is the price. I want the precision industries "dragon" TC, so far ive found swiftracing offers it for 950, precision industries directly for 938, and ironically lexuspros.com, which ALWAYS has the highest price has it listed at the lowest price of 899. So what do you SC owners pay for your dragons and where did you order them from? Also, what was the installation cost? I dont think i'm advanced enough to remove my whole transmission to facilitate the switch so Im going to expect a few hundred in intall fees

DIrEctQL, I have a quick question about the pic in your sig. How did you get your car to hit 140mph at 5000 rpm? When my car goes 140 mph it is right at redline.

Default PI all the way

I bought my Precision Industries torque converter through Swift Racing over 2 years ago.
I have had it on my car w/no problems and the car became explosive almost instantly.
LIike Hermosa said..u dont' gain horsepower or torque. It just give you more of the torque that's already tehre at lower rpms.

My car was very SLOW to 60 b4 but w/the new converter it gets to the 6s easily and sometimes less.
I can surprise some GS400s from time to time..but they'll catch up and pass me afterward.

Precision is more quality IMO than Dragon or the one that rebuild your stock TC. You get what you pay for.

Hope that helps.

YOu won't be dissapointed w/the TC from PI. It's explosive...gives your car some punch early on, and makes it more fun to drive.

Yeah, its definitely what I want... a girl freind of mine who knows more about racing than most men said with a TC I might not even want to bother with the computer rebuild. Just to let you know the PI "precision industries" makes the dragon orque converter... They have about 6 different types, like the panther, magnum... the dragon is meant specifically for lexus and supras. The thought of doing 0-60 in a whole seconds less (about 6.0) gets me very excited.

The PI torque converter makes your car into "A whole new car". The only way for someone to understand is to just get it done.

Trust me (us). Its well worth the cost....

Whats up DIrEctQL? Long time no chat! I installed the PI converter Last fall. I went with the 3000-3200 stall. I believe they set them up in a range 2800-3000, 3000-3200, and so on. You will not be disappointed. I have no problem smoking the 18"s, with my 16"s I would get better launches. I will be taking my ride out of storage in a couple weeks. If you want to see how the TC works in a 400, let me know. We could meet out by FOX VALLEY and I could take you for a spin.
