Default Windows only work when door is open

Whats the deal? It just started last night. The windows will only go up or down when the drivers side door is open. It makes a buzzing sound when I try to lower it with the door closed. Help me out guys.

buzzin makes me second guess this, but I was gonna say that you are losing your connection at the hose the transfers wires from the cabin to the door. My civic had a similar issue with its speaker.

thats exactly what it is, does it sound kinda like a scratchy electric sound, if it does, its loosing voltage or shorting in the door harness, it sucks to fix but it only gets worst if not taken care of... when it happened to me it eventually stop working all together forcing me to resolve the problem, GL

The door harness will unplug above the footwell kick panel. Unplug it &
feed it out into the door jam. You will have pleny of room then to repair
the broken wire.

Most likely just 1 wire. Pull the harness out from the body,
remove the rubber boot & inspect the wiring. It will be
obvious which wire is broken.

Harness in the door as mentioned above. Depending on how bad the wires are usually you just need to cut and soder the wires together then shrink wrap them. Using electrical tape is more of a temp solution and the moving door could pull the tape off eventually. Most of the time is it a crack in the wire and its a easy fix.
