Default Airbag wiring polarity

I'm swapping to a 3 spoke wheel and...as you can imagine the airbag won't plug in. My new single stage airbag has two yellow wires, and the OEM SC airbag has a yellow and blue. I have seen this question asked, but never answered. Which is which with the all yellow wires? Or does it not matter since they aren't color coded? Normally I wouldn't be too concerned, but these suckers are expensive, I'd hate for it to blow I tried prying the entire harness out of the SC airbag and it appears to be epoxied in, it doesn't budge, whereas on the new airbag, the connecter will come out of the airbag itself, but anyway, swapping the entire harness is out of the question.

I would like to know this also because I will be doing a similar swap. Isn't there an adapter from single stage to dual?

Both of my airbags are single stage, but the newer single stage (GS300) has a different plug than the older airbag (SC300) I think the adapter was precisely for that, just to change the plug style, but it is no longer available, I don't think you can make a two stage bag work properly in an older car.

That's correct! If you're looking to upgrade to a 3 Spoke the 99-01 RX 300 plugs right up with no issues or a 3 Spoke from a 99-00 SC would be ideal! A dual stage airbag I'm sure would be possible but I'm sure a lot of cutting and splicing of wires would be necessary, and I don't think that's something you would want to do especially with something as vital as your airbag..

Ok, great, now back to the original question , What if you have a nice 3 spoke air bag, in the right color, in good condition, for a good price....from a '02 RX300, ( I searched for a while and never came across one from an '01) Everyone mentions the '01 RX as the holy grail, since the colors match, the airbag plugs in, the wood is correct, etc. There must have been a changeover from '01-'02

Im about to find out soon. I have the leather with wood steering wheel from a 01 RX300, just waititng on my airbag to arrive. I got a pretty decent deal on Ebay, I been looking around for a 3 spoke RX airbag for awhile and finally ran into one last week..

Well, since no one could answer this, and the one guy that said he had an old adapter to sell never responded to my offer, I just cut the old plug off the SC airbag and soldered it on my new one. It didn't blow and I was able to reset the airbag light, so I guess it's going to work
