Default Cheap drag wheel solution

Just thought I would share a idea for a cheap drag race wheel solution.
As some of you may know I am preparing to put some new Stoptech BIG brakes on my car. In pursuit of the new brakes my 16" CCW Classics (drag wheels) would no longer fit. Long story short I picked up some brand new Bogart 17" drag wheels, that’s not the cheap solution !

Anyway, Having a 17" wheel put me in search of some 17" bias ply drag tires, I happen to stumble on a cheap set of tires and wheels on eBay that were the exact tires I needed. Just so happened they are on a set of new mustang 17" wheels. Of course I have no plans to use the wheels since I have Bogarts but I thought this might be useful info for others. I threw one on the car to show fitment, They really fit nice!

So the moral of the story is, if you want to go drag racing on a budget, start hunting the multitude of Mustang wheels out there. They bolt up, They clear TT brakes, they have a nice offset and they are usually cheaper than Supra/Lexus wheels.

Rear drags at $200 for the pair! Nope, they are not for sale, bought them for the rubber.

When you buy a pair of $1200 rear rims, $200 tires is nice.

No pics available. I used them to wheel my MKIV around the shop while my volks were being fixed. I was surprised they cleared the front calipers lol

i thought it was a known fact that mustang wheels are the **** on budget

i guess it doesnt cross many peoples minds on here since you know we drive a Lexus and all...

mustang wheels are the most economic solution to good fitment, good size, and dirt cheap price.

you can pick up saleen replica wheels for about 300 shipped.

discount tire direct had a sale on gtr replica wheels about a month ago. 17x10.5+27.....200 for a set of 4.
