For those of you who did the LEDs not only in the interior but went to the tail lights and other outside lights. Does this really make much of a difference in brightness for the tail lights? Is it worth it? Im upgrading the interior leds now but not so sure about the outside LEDs besides getting HIDs for the headlights
What about throwing off the light on the dash due to the change in resistance?
i didnt do any of the tailights but i did put cool white LEDs in the reverse. it didnt make it significantly brighter but it is an improvement from stock.
As in a bunch of tiny LEDs to make up the tails like in caddys? If that's what you mean then it's probably going to be a huge headache. You'll end up with a bunch pin needle size holes in your tails as they burn out one by one over time.
i replaced my tail light bulbs with 1157 LED bulbs. they looked amazing and were really bright. only one problem, the "tail light out" warning light flew on in the dash. even after i put resistors into the tails, the light would not go off. so i put the stockers back in...= [
but they did look really really really nice with the spoiler LED too!
i installed those led light bulb that i bought from autozone before but when i step on the brakes the warning light came up to, so i just went back to stock.
There are quite a few people on HIDplanet who would recommend not using those PNP bulbs since most are inferior in terms of light output compared to the stock bulbs. Their course of action usually is to make a custom set up just like the thread here. Assuming that you use high quality components and LEDs, they will last quite a long time as long as you do it right
