have you disconnected yours? There is absolutely no difference in feel at any speed. the car feels stable and never feels like it is going to break loose or that there is no control. I thought all this did was provide extra boost to the steering when the car was at low speeds, now i have consistent boost to the steering the whole way through

As you begin to gain momentum, the weight transfers to the rear, allowing the steering to be easier and not as heavy, almost a sloppy feel to it..

With the power assist connected, this prevents the sloppy feel and provides a tighter steering..

Again, this is all from what I am feeling... I could be wrong..

I think you are wrong. Im not positive either but the way I understand it is this:

The system provides multiple levels of power assist. Removing the wire either makes it so the system provides the minimum assist until a certain speed then works normally. Or removing the wire makes the system provide the minimum assist all the time.

Once a car is moving it takes little effort to turn the wheels. From what I have read I am leaning toward my second guess. Heavy assist at low speeds so women can drive it and not complain. Light assist at high speed so you don't accidentally run yourself off the road looking at the cute girl in the next lane.

yes I have disconnected mine.. I agree that low speed feel is heavier... I will reconnect it, take a run on the highway and then disconnect it and feel for the difference...

Maybe my senses are are screwed...

does it disable assist all the way? I'd be worried about burning the rack up. That boost is what also prevents the gears inside the rack from seeing too much stress on the steering wheel side.

is the assistance based on speed i know there is speed sensor or base on pressure there is pressure switch. How does the pressure swith work?

I've heard it puts more stress on the rack.

where have you heard that?

all this is doing is applying more boost. the rack is working the same amount, but the boost makes the steering lighter..

so then why ask if it would burn up the rack? looks like you already know the answer... or am I missing something?

less assist at the low speeds "can" put more stress on the steering components... thats bottom line..

Well all we have to do is switch our line to driftmotion stainless line and trick ecu with switch resistors so low speed asistance can be turned on.
