My Shine Auto Project Build Thread
Reason why I have been going back and forth is the problem with the clearcoat and some of the minor damage that I have sustained. We touched it up but it was less than satisfactory so now the whole bumper has to be repainted to assure that it will be up to par.
I guess this will be like a grace period for me as far as keeping my bumper intact. I have already sustained alot of deep scrapes underneath it anyways.

hey i seen ait racing has the ac kit now for 700.00 i wonder whats going to be the ebay price the auction block
i graduate in 3 months from an autobody school so i dont mind the challege of a kit not fitting.

For that cheap price, I don't think AIT can come close to this Shine kit. I've used 2 of the copy kits (Vertex & JIC) around $700 and they all have horrible fitment if you look into OEM fitment quality, unless you do a lot of modification to it.
The AIT kit is only the front bumper with Vertex replica. The front bumper was heavy and stiff as a rock compared to the Shine one
Of course not. It is definitely not free but the price and service is good.
Main reason why I went back is not scrapes and bumps but of the clearcoat not curing right at that one particular spot.
Are they doing all this "touch-up" work for free? If not honestly i think you are wasting a lot of money trying to make everything perfect. I mean if you plan to drive that car period (as in not show car) its bound to get hit. And if they are doing it free then i would be scared since eventually they will get tired of you and just end doing a crap fix it job.

Looks alot better without a spoiler/my opinion.
Any update pics? *I expect your top photography work since this is YOUR car, not just an event you are attending.
I want the perfect exposure. ;D

So I finally had time to drop off the bumper to get it worked on for the final time right before The Pursuit Meet at Irwindale next weekend.
The touch up job was a 50/50 chance and didn't come out up to our standards so I ended up just repainting the front bumper, and while at it fix all of the other issues as well for good.
The driver side high beams has a minor gap like the uncorrected AC kit so I had Makito filled it in:

Now this is the part where it is pissing me off. My broken fogs broke again!

Anyways, I am going to go back tomorrow to install the bumper and prep the car for the meet
Thanks. Well, it is not a complete project yet, exterior wise that is. I am still waiting for a cheap used set of spacers to come up in the classifieds.

Alright, you need emblems to make them look better. All you need is put the "L" logo for the trunk and leave out the "Lexus" and the "SC 300". The front is up to you whether you want emblem or not. If you like the JDM "Soarer" emblem for the front is not a bad idea. As for the rear once again, I personally like the 92-96 factory lip vs the 97-00 spoiler. Personally, that would be an interesting combination having full bodykits with factory lip. I'm not diggin no spoiler with bodykit, it look somehow unfinished. If you don't like emblems, at least have the "lip" (I really like the lip) for the trunk to make it look complete with the rest of the body. SC look funny with no spoiler regardless with bodykits or not.

How much gap is around the bottom of the fogs?
Mine has at least a 1/4 inch around the bottom.
I had no fitment issues with my highs however.
I had issues with my marker light fitment.
I did have to add tabs to my fogs. And there are 3 mounting locations for the fogs. Drill a hole for the upper fog light mount.
