Supra TT Brake Pads in LS400 Calipers, they fit!!!
Alright i will make this short and sweet.
This is the inside of a supra tt brake caliper (front right)

This is the supra tt brake pad (untrimmed) inside the ls400 caliper.

As you can see the supra tt brake pad fits perfectly inside the actual brake caliper but doesnt slide back. You will need to remove 4 downsizing plates for the supra tt pad fit in. Also from looking at the actual pad, the supra tt comes with brake pad wear indications. These will probably stop the pads from sliding in at the bottom. So you might need to dremel then off. Plus you would need to get 2 supra anti-rattle springs.
Now the next question is do supra tt rotors fit? The major difference between the two calipers is that the space between the top of the caliper and where it starts to curve, the angle of curving and the actual orientation of the caliper relative to the rotor.
I measured the space between the top of the caliper and where it starts curving. Turns out the supra tt caliper is actually thicker there. Then i looked at the angle of curve. To me it appears the ls400 would make a greater circle. And finally i looked at the orientation. On the car it appears as if the supra caliper is at 2 o clock while the ls400 caliper is at 3 o clock.
So there is enough clearance inside the caliper for the supra tt rotor. The real question is if the orientation of the caliper allows it to clear or not. Its really a crap shot but luckily i am buying supra tt rotors for my calipers anyways. I'll update that when i get them but if someone else wants to try it, go ahead.
Oh and just encase you guys are wondering. The supra tt brake pad is better then the ls400 pad because its slightly wider and doesn't have the cut out for the pad wear sensor. The supra tt rotor is better because it has directional cooling vents and is slightly larger.

This could mean alot! More pad options, bigger rotors, etc. Kinda surprised nobody has thought of doing this before.
Silly question maybe, Are the pistons the same size in both calipers

looks like im going the same route as well.
gonna go for supra TT rotors and pads, and give them a try on my LS400 calipers.
from what everyone says, the difference is 8.128mm diameter. so worse case scenario, get them laithed 4mm like a drum brake and the supra tt rotors will be the same overal diameter as the LS rotors.
my question is rotor thickness. are they the same?

Another picture! Not sure if you can see. I put a brand new pads and I have pushed the pistons on both sides all the way in flat. If the supra pads are a little bit thicker then you might have a hard time to put them in. I had a hard time just sliding the new LS400 pads in since it has metal shim/plate behind it.
