Exclamation New Sc400 owner Please Help!

Whats up guys and girls i just got a 92 lexus sc400 last night and it has a idle problem. It sounds like its got cams but it does not. And also it feels like its going to stall. Did I make a bad buy. Idk wtf to do and how to fix this. Someone please help me out or give me instructions to what to do.

Thank you

Theres alot to check. Perhaps the car needs a tune up. IAC could be clogged and need cleaning/replacing. Make sure your intake isn't restricted. Any Check engine lights? Could also be a fuel issue. I would check for fuel pressure. (try all the easy things first though)

My SC4 used to have similar symptoms (shakey/uneven idle car felt like it wanted to stall) I changed out the spark plug wires with new oem lexus wires and the uneven idle went away. Hope your issue is as simple as mine was. Good luck

I had this problem when I washed the engine bay. Water ended up getting into the spark-plugs. Maybe the guy washed the engine before you bought it?

If the car has the cats it could be a clogged cat making those o2 codes pop up but more than likely it's bad o2 sensors. My sc300 had a big chuggy idle shortly after I bought it, I swapped out the plugs and it straighted right up.

did you clear the codes after installing the new MAF? 99% of the time o2 sensor codes will pop up when there's a maf problem and then go away after the maf is replaced (and the codes are cleared).
