The thing is until we get to know the new owner , the name of the old owner stays on the list. And even worst is if the new owner is not a forum member or even if he is and we are never told then no way for us to know who owns it now.
I know some on the list that have already been sold and the name listed are not anymore the current owners.

The only reason I brought it up is because I assumed the car for sale was the same one he had when he was added to the list. The VIN next to his name is 286 while the one for sale is 260, so they're very close.

* This list basically now has 78 5speed SC300 .
History Table for the Soarer Model: JZZ31 3.0ltr -> month and year a car rolled out of the factory by their VIN (serial #)
Here is a table I lifted from Wikipedia that can be informative . Looks like this info is based on Calendar Year. The annotations in blue are references from which the editors lifted the numbers. Looks like they have lumped the 1991 production with the 1992 that is why the number of production is a lot bigger than sales and technically the Lexus SC model started in 1992. So is the 120 number only for the 1997 calendar year manufactured vehicles ? I still don't know ! Hope one day we will find a more credible source and will find out .

^^ I did not know about this. To be certain, this doesn't represent the time period during which the SC and Z3x Soarers ceased production and the SC340 & Z40 Soarer went into production? This is just concerning the last few production years of our model series in the late 90's?

i know everyone uses wiki to see that there were 120 made but has anyone truly confirmed this number anywhere else from other trusted reliable sources? i would love to see it come from Lexus. that will truly make the car very special, not that it isnt already being a 5 speed and the last year it was in production.

Wow! Thomas, that is a very significant set of documents you have there! Confirmation indeed! Was this marketing material produced at the close of the 1997 model year? Since I have heard it's never been possible for a customer to special order a model with options they want, Toyota/Lexus has always just produced whatever trim levels of whatever model in whatever color with whatever packages for all the markets they deem appropriate. That would mean that Lexus USA (or Toyota/Lexus corporate in Japan) just picked an arbitrary number of 5-speeds to be produced for the States for 1997 with no other factors influencing them to that number.
