What are some tasteful modernization for these 97 SC300s? I was thinking:
1. Bushings and suspensions
2. Seats and interior
3. Steering wheel
4. Headlights
5. Wheels
6. Fresh paint / tint

^^^ there are definitely a lot of things you can do for a 1 of 120 97 SC300 5speed . Being rare , they just deserve to have the best !
of course being mine , am biased on this one
* Coilovers for suspension
* Good Black Interior
* Steering wheel replaced
* Morimoto HID Head / Fog Lights
* AC poly-urethane body kit
* Paint to be done when I get a rear diffuser
* Weld RT-S wheels / Drag Radial tires to be installed after the paint job. I hate them to be messed up during painting and while drive train is still a stock 2jzGTE 6 speed.
* This for me is the best you can do for a 1 of 120 -> a 2jzGTE V160 6 Speed swap . Mine will have one of the best 2jzGTE VVTi 6 speed setup once I am all done with it. Currently working on it , parts by parts change over till the 3.4 stroker VVTi is in , while keeping it running at the same time . Currently it has the stock 2jzGTE VVTi 6 speed though the mega fuel system setup is in.

You will need to get coilovers according to the setup and use of the car to maximize functionality not unless you are just after the looks (stance) of the car . Not all coil-overs are spec-ed the same that is why there are different spring rates.Exactly the reason at the drag strip , even coil-overs are set up / tuned to get the fastest time .
I loved the HKS drag specs coil-overs. I have them in two of my MKIVs but had been discontinued . On this SC , I now have the HKS Hypermax IV GT in there.

Hello, I own a 97 SC300 original 5 speed. It's black onyx with tan interior. 62k miles on it at the moment. Bone stock with exception to some upgraded 18 inch rims.
