JKBHEAT's BFI build

This is my first car so I was fairly satisfied with the stock power when I first got it. Well that satisfaction did not last long at all. But on a college students budget I can't really afford a 2j, 1j, heck, not even 1/2 a j.

Well, there's no first performance mod better than the old BFI. Cheap, quick, and effective :D. I can't really give a hp gain # but honestly, I'd say at least 10-15 to the wheels; especially in the higher rpms. It feels and sounds stock when cruising, but when you put your foot on it you can easily feel the instant power to the wheels that was not there before; not to mention the engine now sounds like it would make the stock engine wet its pants. Also, I still have to block off the battery side hole where air can escape.

If you do a BFI do it right and you won't be disappointed.

On to some pics.

This is where the air goes; not as open as I want it to be (what are the odds that the only type of screws that I need are the only type that they're sold out of)

Yeah, one of the guys who sells it lives up the street from my house in Atlanta

Looks wonderful. When I do decide to get one lol, I'll try to let him install it for me.

I think 10-15 to the wheels is a bit of an over estimate. It looks nice!

There was a cone filter adapter for the 1UZ that I had many years ago. I took it to the dyno before and after. Torque decreased by 17 ft lb and HP by 9. I have the dyno graph somewhere.

I'm not saying this improves power, there's been countless threads sort of proving it does. I'm just throwing sh* out there.
