Default UZZ31 Rebuild (56k beware)

G'day,

So I sold my 91 Cressida a few weeks ago (my daily driver). Went out shopping for a replacement when I found this. Picked her up for cheap and planning to do a full rebuild on the vehicle.

It's a 1991 4.0GT-Limited model, Jade Green metallic body with spruce interior... fully optioned minus a sunroof and LSD. The body is a little rough (near side guards have dents, bumpers have swipe marks and scratches all over but inside isn't too bad and mechanically runs fantastic.

It's had the airbag suspension replaced with new OEM struts, working EMV screen (all functions, even shows me a map of Japan) with non-skipping CD stacker and no rips in the seats (except for the driver's seat, which is pretty minimal).

The major damages are as follows...

Swiped front bumper...

Dented near side front and rear guards...

It's basically stock, with a set of old school Manaray Vertec mesh wheels (17x8" and 17x9") and a Field height controller...

which lets me do this...

...to this...

... but I leave it at this height.

The plans for this car are to...
* Clean up the body (goes into the shop in a few weeks)
* Fit the 97+ kit from my JZZ30 (including tails, spoiler etc), maybe new paint (white, maybe?)
* Fit the brakes off my JZZ30 with new discs and some braided lines
* Fix the front seats and have the rears dyed to suit (planning on a tan/black combo)
* Fit the 19" Trafficstars off my JZZ30

Hopefully all goes to plan before I need to buy a new RAV4 or something

Cheers,

Jose

Nice find, All it needs is paint. Is the air suspension and navigation standard on the 4.0GT-Limited model?

Great pickup! Interior is damn clean for a 91. Wish we had oem airbag suspension SCs here in the states. =/

Thanks guys, I'll keep this thread updated whenever stuff gets done

Nice find, All it needs is paint. Is the air suspension and navigation standard on the 4.0GT-Limited model?
Yeah, thinking about painting it the new Toyota Crystal White pearl (looks fantastic).

Air suspension is standard but not the EMV. Luckily the EMV monitor and stacker work flawlessly. The previous owner also seems to have fitted some wiring harness for a DVD player so I'll see if I can get that going.

Post some pics of both SCs side by side!
We've actually 3 of them at home.

Black JZZ30 - Not too many mods... 19" Trafficstar wheels, xenon retro, TRUST SP exhaust, custom lowering springs, Kenwood/MTX audio
Green UZZ31 - Virtually stock... 17" Manaray wheels, Field height controller
Green JZZ30 - Big single turbo conversion, FMIC, GReddy eManage Ultimate, GReddy Profec boost controller, full exhaust system... awaiting full fuel system upgrade
