need help with new 20's

the rims i have are 20x8.5 255/35 front and 20x10 285/30 in back. the front is fine but im having a problem with the back. they rub a lot. i bamed in the little lip inside the fenders and they still were rubbing so i raise the back of the car about 3-4 inches now they dont rub but i hate how high it sits. ive seen plenty of sc's lowered on 20's so i know its possible. any idea on how i can just get back to stock height without rubbing? will stretched tires do it? if so what size do i need?

10" wide tires are a big prob. If you put 9.5 rubbers that are 1" tall and drive SLOWLY over pot holes, u might make it. That just a big @ss wheel bro.

I had the same problem I switch to 275/30's in the rear and now no rub

offset on wheels?

Dude, i've seen ppl with 12" wides in the back. 10" isn't a big deal. Holla@ Wicked_SC or LRD or TeeLex. All of them are running 11" or more in the back. IMO, your rear tires are way too big for 10"ers. stretch it, that should work. And trim the inside lip a little. I'm running 275 30's out back and i have minimal rub over REALLY bad pot holes. AND, i haven't trimmed the lip at all.

i dont know what the offset is for them.

Off set would help, I know the tires and rim width will work but not with a small offset. I would say you would need a 45mm offset and a fender roll to pull it off. I run a 20x10 and a 35mm offset. I am going to try and stuff some 285/25/20's on them but from what I measure it may not quite fit.

Start with step 1, if that's still not enough to clear, continue to step 2 and so on.

1. Shave fenders
2. Roll/pull fender
3. Stretch tires
4. Add negative camber
5. get aftermarket/custom arm for more neg camber as needed
6. wide body

If you go larger than 9.5 in the back you are going to have to do modifications to fit it without rubbing.

As stated before, you are probably going to need to pull the fenders and stretch the tires a little more to make it work.

i have 20 x11 and 305/25/20 tire and dropped on coilovers to where it sits right at the tire level or maybe 1/4 in tucked and no rubs

offset/pad height is the key

yes i trimmed off all but maybe 1/8 in of the lip but i clear easily

heres a pic and i have since lowered it about 1/2 in more :D

I went with 8.5 with 245/35/20 on the front and 9.5 with 275/30/20 on the rears. And I was able to drop ln some Ksport coilovers, no rub.

I'm right there with him on rolling the fenders and then adding neg camber.

llllllllllllllllllll

i ran 275 30 on a 20x10 and stock it wasnt bad unless i filled the tank. i removed the trim and it was better. tein basic all the way down i had to shave the fenders. the i added 15mm spacers to 42mm offset and running a 245 35 on it and some negative camber and its looking pretty good.
