Engine swap for sc300, which engine?
GTE, large single, spray it up, v160 or th400, bigger head gasket, billet mains, some JE's or CP's, and Carillo or Eagle rods, either a tt supra diff or TRD, AEM or Motec or one of the zillion other standalones out there...insta-reliable-track car. If you don't go HUGE turbo and high shot of NOS you won't need the built pistons, rods, or main caps.
NA-T, properly sized turbo w/ appropriate hotside, no need for spray, v160 or R154, thicker head gasket, billet mains, some CP's, and Carillo or pauter rods, either a tt supra diff or TRD, AEM or Motec or one of the zillion other standalones out there...and there's no such thing as a reliable track car.
First of all, unless you have money literally falling out of your as*, if you really want a good track car, you're going to spend more on suspension and brakes, lightening the car up, etc. than you will on motor. So you're going about this backwards.
Second you don't need more than 500 to the wheels to make one hell of a track car. Like I said you will spend more on suspension and brakes than on the motor if you want to be competitive, sounds to me like your more interested in saying how much your car makes.
Fixed.

If your version of a good track car is something that runs a thirteen/high twelve follow your own advice...except you won't need a bangup suspension cause it's not going to squat much and you definitely won't need a huge brake upgrade to stop it at the end. I just hooked you up with a recipe for a VERY reliable 10 sec track car...only missing a few things but I didn't want it to be really long. If you need me to break it down rinky-dink style and explain why each component is important I'll do it for you....dang dude- shave weight, big brakes, and insta-track car? You're an optimist.
I think you're on the wrong page.. I'm pretty sure by "track" car he means a road course car not drag car, and he's right that you don't need more than 500hp and good suspension/brakes to have a good track car.
Hahaha! You're crazy. You think a hole saw and a decent suspension makes a car a good track car?! 500hp? Do you even know what you'd trap with 500hp? That's good hp for rx7's and other cars that weigh about as much as a case of beer. As for the #'s thing- I do not have a GTE...immediate moot point. I didn't forge my internals or use billet mains. My build has nothing to do with this.

P.S. [whispers] I hear Midol is good for that... [/whisper]
We were assuming different stuff. But I deserved that...I was all huffy-I sounded like I was beatboxing in front of the computer. I still didn't need to be a buttchunk. HYJAXX<----FAIL!
