I'm also curious how this could be done; the flat black trim would look like the BMW's with the 'Shadowline' trim, which is found on cars equipped with sport packages. Gives the SC a sportier/stealthier look.

I dunno how to take it off, but you can always mask off the surrounding area and spray it.

or you could use electric tape, kinda ghetto but would probably work. lol

I dont think paint will go over Chrome well.......I could be wrong, I was thinking about doing that but it doessnt seem like it would hold up and it would start to chip off

If you sand it down lightly it shouldnt peel, but then again the best way is to use primer too. Seems to me like a headache.

WoW I have been thinking about doing the same thing but I want mine in flat black. My boi did it to his 335i and it looks sweet, but I wont get around to doin it until I paint my car... If I were you I would check out this thread on painting the emblems black pearl and tape off the area and try the same process on the chrome...

Try checking Pep boys, they have this stuff. Or you can order directly from summit racing. I used them on my chrome door handles on my g35. Had it on for over a year with no issues.
