Window won't roll up!

I just bought my 95 sc400. The owner said the drivers side window had been acting up and when I test drove the car it wouldn't roll down. On my way home I tried the window and it did roll down but now it won't roll back up. I bought a new master switch but that didn't work so now i'm not sure what to do. The passenger window rolls down fine but does not work if you try and roll it down from the drivers side. BTW when the window rolled down it sounded fine no funny noises. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

When you try to roll it up do you hear an electric motor sound or do you hear nothing?

There is no noise at all when trying to roll the window up.

Bingo sounds like a motor! If you don't want to straight up buy a motor you can jumper the connector to the motor. If you have a jumper box, extra battery,or jumper wires find which one is power and ground and see if it goes up and down. If it works without any drag check the connectors to the motor. You should also check the wiring harness in the crack of the door. Those can sometimes get cut after age.The circuits should be on CL or just ask for a circuit diagram someone should help you out.

check the wiring harness that runs where the door hinge is. Slice open the rubber and make sure none of the wires are cut. The white/black wire in particular

I jumped the window motor with a battery and some test leads. The window rolled up fine. Now I just have to search for a bad wire somewhere. Thanks for everyones help. I really appreciate it.

That is the exact wire and the location where I had the same problem.

Me too i'm just mad that I spent $75 on a master switch that I don't need. I guess I'll just sell it on ebay or something.

I was a click away from purchasing a new window switch until I called a fellow local member and swapped his switch into my car. Still didnt work. Did one more quick search on the forums and found my answer. :D
