Default Funny noise on cold start

Lately my car has been making a strange noise on the very first startup of the day. It's kind of like a whine but lower pitched. It goes away as soon as I move the steering wheel. Any ideas on what it could be? I know the previous owner replaced the steering pump so that should be ok.

Check your power steering fluid reservoir. If it is low it could make a hell of a lot of noise. You might just need to add some fluid. That or you could have air in the power steering lines. Do you have any leaks of any kind from the power steering lines or reservoir?

I did search or else I wouldn't have posted.

I believe I checked the ps fluid when I first got the car but I'll check again tomorrow to be sure. There doesn't appear to be any leaks.
