Default Door molding for 97+ side skirts needed?

Are the lower door molding's necessary for mounting the 97+ side skirt?. I have heard by a lot of people that they are not and on luxury mods it says just the side skirts are bolt on. I just want to be sure before I spend an extra $200. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm...that's weird of LuxuryMods to say...

But anyways, the lower door moldings will bolt right on any model 92-00. They come prepainted any factory color from 97-00. They are NOT required for 92-96 models but would look nice to have to complete the 97-00 look.

Hope that helps!

What these guys said. You can install 97+ sides with the 92-95 lower door mouldings, but you will have a gap. IMO, that gap looks like **** on all side skirts.

I knew when doing mine, I would upgrade both the skirts and lower door mouldings. I highly recommend it.

Wow $200 for those little strips?? I would just focus on getting the skirt on and consider the strip later.

or you might be lucky and find some at your local junkyard. I got mines door mouldings at the junk for 20 bucks!!!
But back to the topic. You do NOT need them but it will look funny since there will be a noticable gap.

Insane price for sure. I've seen people go get strips of molding and cut them to size and use them (general molding), but I'd skip that idea if you can't make them look perfect.
